Police identify man killed in Lebanon burglary

The name of the man shot dead Monday during a burglary in the 700 block of Mifflin Street has been released by police.

A 53-year-old man was shot and killed during a burglary in the early hours of Monday, Sept. 25 at 750 Mifflin Street in Lebanon.

 

Joseph Blanco, 54, was shot during a burglary at his home at 750 Mifflin St. at 3:53 a.m. Monday morning. Blanco was already deceased from the gunshot wounds he sustained when police arrived on the scene, according to police.

The investigation into the homicide is ongoing, and no other details are available at this time, police said.

A 53-year-old woman was also shot during the incident, and another 53-year-old woman had been struck in the head with a blunt object. Their names have not been released.

The woman who was shot sustained non-life threatening injuries, and the woman struck was also treated for her injuries.

The burglary was not a random incident, and the residents were specifically targeted, Lebanon City Police Chief Todd Breiner said.

The suspect is a man, but no other description is available, according to a news release issued Monday.
